What they say about him:
He was born on the 1st of Sivan, 1998. David was raised in the Old City of Jerusalem, and in his youth he fought to get into the IDF to serve in a meaningful unit Everyone who knew him loved him immediately. David made everyone happy and brightened any room he entered.
If someone was sitting on the side and looked sad or alone, David immediately went over to him, spoke to him, and made him happy. David danced the dance of life.
David believed that all is for the good, and his motto was “everything always gets messed up for good.” David “lived in the moment” every moment. He was always looking to make someone happy, to dance, to explore the world. And the experience that he never wanted to miss, ever: Friday night Shabbat dinners and family holiday meals with his siblings.
David went with his partner to the Nova Festival at Kibbutz Re’im, and was murdered while he was hiding in a trash container with other young people. In his last moments, he maintained his cool and tried to calm others down around him. He helped direct the security forces to where they were, and after the tragic events, it was made known to his family that due to his sending the security forces their location, over 100 people were able to be saved.
Noam: “David, was the most amazing and beautiful person in the world. He was always smiling, helpful, supportive, and loving. And now I am burying him. We were supposed to move on Sunday, the day after the party, to live together after dating for a year and a half. We did manage to travel together for 7 months in India.
He was always supporting me, and said that I am a lioness that can do anything, and now, he is gone. Because of this, it is important for me to tell you our story, to know what this slaughterhouse took from us: it robbed us of our innocence and sense of security. My David was a formerly religious person from Jerusalem who came from a large family. He dreamed of opening an event hall, so he could make others happy. I was privileged to be his partner and to live with such a person.”
