Photography has been around for quite a while; We’ve come a long way since humanity first managed to capture blurred, unreadable photos in the 19th century. Thanks to both new technologies and artistic approaches, countless new techniques and genres have been developed. But have we reached the climax? Could new, innovative approaches to photography still be discovered? Let’s find out.

The “Wrong” Settings

When we take a picture, we all have some sort of image in our minds as to what it should look like. With that, we can choose the settings most suitable to achieve the results we want. That is all well and good, but that has been done countless times throughout history. Sometimes, to achieve new and interesting results, we need to use unconventional settings.

Taking multiple pictures of the same view, each time with different settings, can yield some interesting results. A style that might otherwise have been overlooked might suddenly appeal to new audiences. It is that “outside the box” way of thinking that allows us to truly test our boundaries when it comes to finding new ways of taking photographs.

Abstract Photography

For many years cameras have improved their quality and resolutions to extreme extents. Sharper and clearer images have been easier to come by as the years went on. This granted a more accurate portrayal of the world around us. But while photography is traditionally about showing what the target truly looks like, it doesn’t always have to be this way.

These days many photographers in many fields such as urban street photography realized that less is more. By deliberately shooting out of focus or taking pictures of unrecognizable views, new and interesting results can be obtained. Street – lights pictured out of focus as blurry dots suddenly leave extra room for imagination and stimulate the viewer’s senses.

Going Vintage

Just as with many artistic fields, current trends in photography also head towards “Retro” approaches. Modern methods are present all around us, and occasionally we would like to go back in time to eras that are long gone. These vintage methods always have their own unique appeal, like street photography or night street photography of times long gone.

Many companies these days produce cameras that mimic the older styles of photography, such as polaroid or black and white cameras. Sometimes these are not even mimics, but actual vintage technologies adapted to the 21st century. These offer many opportunities to reinvent oneself in modern times and bring innovation to this ancient profession.

Using AI

Artificial intelligence has already been incorporated into countless fields. This fact did not skip the field of photography. Through the expert use of statistics and programming, artificial intelligence can be designed to give the viewer new perspectives that have never been seen before. That is because, they were not thought of by an actual human being.

Computers can have the ability to analyze photography trends and use them to construct images through a mathematical and statistical approach. New coloring methods, incorporation of unfamiliar elements and original contrasts could change the way traditional photographs look. This opens an entire world for new genres and emotions to be depicted.

Drones

Aerial photography has been around for a few decades. Through the use of airplanes and helicopters, humans have finally been able to take magnificent picture from a bird’s – eye view. This however was not fully accessible to every common photographer, since renting aircraft is often expensive. This all changed with the onset of drones.

There are many drones today that are relatively inexpensive and specially designed for photography. Every photography studio now has drones for taking pictures from above. This offers views that are normally completely inaccessible to humans; from aerial street photography of pedestrians to wildlife photography, the list of possibilities goes on and on.

On the Site Approach

Social media is ever on the rise, and its popularity is only but increasing. Its behavior clearly shows an affinity towards live and on the site documentation of events. Whether public or private, the presence of photographers during the time of occurrence is becoming more desired. As a result, photography mantras could encourage more direct approaches.

This could be expressed by photographers getting bolder and getting closer to the scene. This is especially relevant in the case of photojournalism, which deals with current events. This could also encourage more realistic representations and depictions of environments. Closer shots could for example catch more authentic reactions shown on people’s faces.

It’s a Small World

Modern cameras have become highly advanced. Focus and micro techniques are getting more and more accurate as we speak. This allows for photographers to photograph smaller and smaller objects. From tiny insects and animals to nanometer sized chemical structures, there are simply no limits to what one could take pictures of.

This new technology can completely change the way we think about the world around us. Its beauty can be captured with extreme resolutions that have never been captured before. This will allow us to appreciate the tiny things that constitute our very reality and way of life. It’s as if a new presence that we never noticed or felt before is now a daily part of our lives.

An Innovative Photographer for an Innovative Environment

New photography methods are still developed and invented. In this ever – changing world of advancement, photographers need to think outside the box for their work to stay relevant. Amir Chodorov is one of those photographers.

Amir Chodorov developed his own unique method of photography. By taking thousands of pictures of the same view, he is able to construct collages accurately depicting a larger one. This is especially relevant for urban street photography, where capturing the entire complex setting is often challenging through pictures.

With over 40 years of experience, Amir has managed to adapt himself to the current fashions of the world of photography. This guarantees ideal results for those looking for high quality services in the field.
